CHICO—Community Housing Improvement Program seeks sponsors for its 2018 Rock the House Gala on Saturday, November 2 at Sierra Nevada Big Room. This year’s theme is “Rebuilding for the Future,” and will celebrate what CHIP is doing to rebuild the community after the Camp Fire.
Last year’s event was canceled because of the fire but with the help of sponsors and other donors, CHIP was able to distribute $74,000 to Camp Fire survivors and seed a Rebuild Fund. Funds raised from this year's event will continue to support CHIP's affordable rental housing, resident services and self-help homeownership programs.
The evening features, dinner, music and dancing, silent auction, 50/50 raffle and no-host beer and wine bar. More than 250 people are expected to attend. The event is in its fifth year, and past major sponsors include Tri Counties Bank, Sierra North Valley Realtors, Community Economics, Inc., and NeighborWorks America. Sponsorship levels include tickets to the event and more. Sponsors of $1000 or more get VIP seating.
Community Housing Improvement Program
CHIP is a private, non-profit corporation providing quality affordable self-help housing, rental apartment communities, farmworker housing and other housing-related services to seven Northern California counties. The organization has built more than 2,600 housing units in the North Valley since 1973.
