The CHIP Housing Educational Success Scholarship Application is Currently Open!
CHIP is committed to creating affordable housing and nurturing communities. We believe that by creating strong connections and offering resources, we can help our residents achieve their educational goals and build brighter futures.
The CHIP Housing Educational Success Scholarship awards $500 to eligible CHIP residents, homeowners, and individuals who are currently attending or will be attending a trade school, community college, or four-year university. A $250 award is available for GED applicants. We aim to award two scholarships annually, typically in late May.
How to Apply:
Submit your completed application by dropping it off at our Chico office or by emailing a typed or scanned copy to scholarship@chiphousing.org.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
- Must live in a CHIP rental property or self-help home (proof of residency will be required)
- Must be currently attending or will be attending a trade school, community college, or four-year university OR applying to take the GED test (proof of registration will be required)
- Must complete brief essay response and scholarship application (can be submitted in person or online to scholarship@chiphousing.org)
- Applications must be turned in no later than April 17th, 2026

FAQ
I live in a CHIP home or on a CHIP rental property with my parents, but I'm not the homeowner or the renter on the lease. Can I still apply?
Yes! Children who live with CHIP homeowners and residents are eligible to apply.
If my parents work or are on the board for CHIP, am I ineligible?
You can still apply for the scholarship if your parent works or is on the board for CHIP, but you do need to let us know in your application! There is a question specifically for this in the scholarship application.
If I don't live at a CHIP property or home, can I apply?
No, this scholarship is only for CHIP residents and homeowners.
