Overview

Cypress Family Apartments is a 70-unit complex made up of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments. This recently built apartment community has an on-site manager, a community room with a full kitchen, laundry facilities, a community garden, and two playgrounds for resident children.


A hard copy of the application must be turned in at one of these locations:

CHIP Office in Chico: 1001 Willow Street, Chico, CA 95928 Monday-Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4 PM.

Cypress Family Apartments: 1623 Cypress Lane, Paradise, CA 95969 

For Drop-Off: Monday-Friday 9:00 AM to 5 PM

Additional Information

Eligible tenants must have a minimum income: of twice the monthly rent (unless the tenant has a Section 8 Voucher or can otherwise demonstrate their ability to pay rent). Maximum income is 30%, 40%, 50% or 60% of Area Median Income, depending on unit designation. Section 8 vouchers are accepted and welcome. A credit check and criminal background screening will be performed at the time of application review.

Preferences for Camp Fire Survivors (verification is required):

1) Camp Fire survivors currently living in temporary housing (defined as structures not meant for long-term habitation, e.g. tents, RVs, sheds, etc.)
2) Camp Fire survivors who lost their place of residence in the Camp Fire
3) Applicants who live or are employed in Butte County

Preferences do not apply for the Housing Authority’s Project-Based Voucher Waitlist.

Tenant-Based/ Housing Choice Section 8 vouchers are also accepted.

The amenities include a community center for resident activities, open space, laundry facilities, a community garden, and two playgrounds for resident children.

Ranges from $387-$1,256 per month depending on unit size and AMI designation. If a tenant receives a Section 8 voucher, rent is based on income. Section 8 vouchers are accepted and welcome.

This recently built rental housing development features 70 units, offering 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments. Accessible apartments are available for those with mobility, hearing, or visual impairments.
